How angry would you have to be to use delicious, gooey, cheesy pizza as a weapon? If your first thought is, "I would never weaponize that sweet treat," then congratulations - you are a good person. Unfortunately, not all are like you.
In 2004, Arsenal visited Manchester United. They brought with them an unbeaten streak of 49 matches - quite impressive regardless of how much you know about soccer (pronounced "football" outside of the US). These teams had a bit of bad blood between them, basically battling as bewildered bystanders basked in their beauty. This time though, it spilled over to after the game.
We've already told you what happens (pizza toss, sorry, spoiler), but enjoy this journey into a seemingly fictional land where some fool would throw away such a delicious treat, all in the name of rivalry.

ok, just curious ... say you had ONE chance to throw ONE food item at ONE sports person ...
Bowl of cereal Ezekiel Elliott for irony you know or Hunts tomatoes at Kareem hunt
Garlic soup at Thierry Henry
A Trout fish at mike trout
Coconuy at Ronaldo
My first thought....cooked beans.
Her voice is so sexy
Speaking of London-based clubs, can we get a rewinder on Eden Hazard’s iconic equalizer to win Leicester City the Premier League?
Corndog
Should do a Rewinder on the Utd 1999 treble season with solskjaer has won it
Phil...did you really think you could sneak that jam hand in and no one would notice where it's from?
Saying gd is not a good thing.. Lost sub
1:30 “They just seem like winners” Ouch
You throw pizza at me ...I will eat your f'in pizza and I will Goddamn enjoy it too. Your loss a-hole
Do England vs Italy 2016 rugby match where the Italians just didn’t contest the ruck (didn’t go for the ball when they tackled the English) and so they could just stand offside and confused tf out of the English players
I’m laughing so hard at this story because SAF’s face would’ve been so red you couldn’t tell if it was the sauce or just his face.
you said it was called pizzagate? oh no
One day. someone on the SB Nation team will be able to pronounce "Premier" correctly. But today is not that day.
Pizza's a great projectile. A full pizza gives multiple tries, it's solid enough that I feel you could get sone decent force behind it, potential topping/sauce splatter, oil stains pretty much ruin whatever you hit
I’m a Chelsea fan but the title is SUPER disrespectful. Sir Alex Ferguson is NOT an ‘ old angry knight’
Get over yourself.
Bart Simpson voice is back
Hey could you guys talk about the collapse of the Denver Broncos?
Me before clicking: "Clara is a professional and deserves my respect." Me before clicking: "Clara is a professional and deserves my respect." Me before clicking: "Clara is a professional and deserves my respect." . Me five seconds after clicking: "OH MY GOD SHE'S ADORABLE!"
"I hate you more than I like pizza."
Where did a player who just came off the pitch get a slice of pizza???
Wait, am I the the only one wondering how Pizza was the dressing room anyways
"I think the concept of being a good loser is just terrible" 🙄 Here we go again. Apparently it's a good thing to act like a jackass after you lose. So I'm going to turn that "show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser" B.S. on its head. Show me a bad loser, and I'll show you a whiny little b@%ch.
This is such a painful watch. Really contrasts the difference between sports in the United States and elsewhere. Sports are purely corporate show over there. Stop. Start. Stop. Start. Stop. Commercial. Repeat. They’re on their phones for the entirety of the baseball and football games because there’s that little happening over the course of 4 hours (~10 minutes the ball is in play).
COOL VOICE GREAT 👍👍
Happy you covered such a great story but I can't say you've done it any justice
Why did that girl need to be here?
HERE COMES THE PIZZA!
Nachos are pretty terrible food to be hit with, assuming they stay in the container some what and don’t fall apart. It’s a high risk/high reward situation.
This would have made for a great rewind episode.
I love Clara
Could we get a rewind of the "05" UCL final in Istanbul.
I think I want soccer content on SB but I forget they know n nothing about it.
I'm sorry but I'm gonna say it Clara is gorgeous!!!!!! 😍
Argh!!! Its Premier not premyere. You pronounce it like premyer
Good, at least you now wandered into my continent. In any way, me being from said continent, and thus getting limited coverage, and as an Eagles fan, I want to understand these things better, painful as they can be. So, How did Donovan McNabb finish his career Untitled? And another one is: Is it too early for a Collapse of the SB-winning team?
This is the worst conversation I’ve ever heard
Damn now that y'all are talking about throwable foods I want a video about Texas Tech throwing tortillas.
This woman seems like she would've been a die hard Pats fan until she suddenly remembered she loved the Bucs actually all along.
I hate to be rather negative, but this was a 9 minute video for a story that just... sputtered out? There were no repercussions, no long standing drama, eh, who cares?
When I saw “knight” in the title I thought it was gonna be fencer that got stabbed with a piece of pizza but this was good too
Do a beef segment Alex Ferguson vs Arsene Wenger
Why was he deknighted? I feel like just walking off is the best way to handle that situation
Technically, Fabregas wasn't an adult. He was 17 at that time.
Rewinder 1999 Champions League Final
that video format is kind of cringe
Pizzagate 2000: a man throws pizza at a knight. Pizzagate 2020: same story, but the liberals baked dead babies into the pizza and eat it to gain satanic superpowers.
more football mate!!
CALVIN JOHNSON 1v1 ur DUN SUN
SB NATION FOREVER N I q q A!!!!!!!!!!
When I read “Knight” in the title, only to watch the video and find out it was not about Bob Knight doing some other horrendous thing to a colleague, I was somewhat disappointed.
I think 'La Remontada' deserves a deep rewind
She could’ve bandwagoned for any team and she chose Arsenal. Utter pillock
Yes, more football coverage topics please
Garbage sport
Soccer deep rewinds but this satisfies meh Liverpool comeback Roma comeback Ronaldo champions leuge winning penalty
Can we get a Bauer and Cole beef video?
Am i the only one annoyed at him calling it "the premear league"?
Oh man this is gonna be good
You guys should do the Villa vs Bayern Munich 1982 final, It's such an iconic moment that Villa Park has the commentary from the moment painted on the inside of the stadium
"They seem like winners...." My sweet summer child....
Arsenal is what new york knicks to nba are.. both franchises had loyal and dedicated fans, plenty great players but very shitty management
How about a rewind on the 1999 champions league final
this video could be 3 minutes long
Will: "So this team has a 49-win streak" Clara: *"all in"*
Wheres Rem-dog "Here comes the Pizza!"
No offence to the presenters because they’re not doing a bad job but it would be better if the people talking about it were more knowledgeable on football/soccer
I still wanna know who threw the beer on Ron Artest.
Yo! Long time listener, first time caller. I love what y’all do so much - it’s a damned public service to all who love sports - which is why I lovingly refer to you as Sportsball Nation! I think imma say that a rotten tomato would be the most insulting food. It’s a great projectile, depending on the thrower, it’ll travel with considerable velocity and it’ll kinda explode with nastiness on impact. There’s also the added sting of it being an iconic symbol of disrespect - and of course the smell. Sometimes you just can’t beat the classics.
I never noticed how engaging the quick drawings make these. Inalso need another *weird rules* segment
If you guys are gonna do more futbol, yall should do a collapse episode on Portsmouth fc. From premier league squad to almost being in the non league.
I’m glad there still making “that’s wired”
Clara’s voice is like silk
Rewinder: Andres Iniesta's goal to win the world cup in 2010
HERE COMES THE PIZZA! - Jerry Remy
As a Derby County fan, could you bring back The Worst for the 2007/08 Derby County team? We had a league record worst 11 points and only one win
I've heard of this incident before, and it was...quite weird to say the least. Throwing a pomegranate would be awful--not only are all the seeds are gathered together, but also if its full, the person would get knocked out in an instant. Or something that the thrower knows that their enemy is allergic too...but that would escalate quite quickly.
The real pizza gate
Y'all woulda had more clicks using Sir Alex Ferguson's name than Cesc Fabregas...
"He flopped." Sure, but if you're a defender and you're stupid enough to dangle your leg out like that, any striker with half a brain is going down.
Did they change the title?😂😂😂
Such incredible immaturity.
Clara is legitimately really funny! I hope she gets to see this!
Pizzagate is real
MORE OF THESE!!!
I think I prefer this pizza gate over the more modern one
I thought this was gonna be the "Here comes the pizza!" moment from a Red Sox game....... you should totally cover that.
It was a joy to watch Arsenal in those days. So much technique in that squad!
Depressed at just how much glorious, fiery, interesting context has been glossed over. The most intense English footballing rivalry in decades reduced to “loool some rando threw a pizza lmao”. Usually you guys are so good with this stuff man, this is half arsed as hell
Hi Clara!
No mention of "Here comes the pizza" from Fenway?
If any of you guys are wanting to learn English football, here are some comparisons to Basketball Arsenal, Houston Rockets- Early period of greatness and above average performance throughout the 10’s with no result. Real Madrid and Man Utd- Lakers, there is an attraction to these teams as their history is rich. Thierry Henry, Hakeem Olajuwon Messi- LeBron James Neymar-Iverson Ronaldo-Durant Cruyff-Jordan Tottenham Hotspur’s-Hawks, won in the 60’s but have nothing since and are on the rise
clara has thought about the food throwing, in tears over jelly justification
Beef History: Arsenal vs Success
We need some soccer rewinders 🙏⚽
It's so weird seeing football content on an American channel
fyi, Fabregas was 17 at the time.
Ah yes cause the best football manager is some old knight
OG Pizzagate
Can you learn to say premier when talking about the prem pls
The best part is I got an ad for Domino's Pizza just before the video
